Just Fine 03:42
I just need a little confrontation ‘Cause I can’t seem to get me out of my head These stagnant stories and conversations Don’t seem to be getting me anywhere And it’s not my soul that needs a saviour It’s just the rest of me that’s breaking I’m indulging misbehaviour But I promise I’m doing just fine Been wrestling with some aggravations Took a pillow to the head (don’t it feel swell) Mediocre longings for situations That always seem to get the best of me And it’s not my soul that needs a saviour It’s just the rest of me that’s breaking I’m indulging misbehaviour But I promise I’m doing just fine Dizziness is quite the sensation A rollercoaster where the devils roam The world is spinning at one thousand miles an hour But it can’t seem to spin all on its own And it’s not my soul that needs a saviour It’s just the rest of me that’s breaking I’m indulging misbehaviour But I promise I’m doing just fine I’m doing just fine Ooh ooh wah Ah ah ooh wah I’m doing just fine

Trade your riches for depth as a silent man As you sleep in your worth Fear you not what lies ahead For gold may glitter in the dirt And maybe you’ll notice – if you’re lucky (maybe) Something shining in the mud Takes a fight with the mirror Ain’t it funny (funny) To finally recognise your worth Mmm Be just like the conscience you never had On your journey down, down, down Do not force your will of mind For gold may glitter if given time And maybe you’ll notice – if you’re lucky (maybe) Something shining in the mud Takes a fight with the mirror Ain’t it funny (funny) To finally recognise your worth Mmm All of your efforts may burst to dust And leave you in the lurch Search the sand for a little while For gold may glitter in exhile And maybe you’ll notice – if you’re lucky (maybe) Something shining in the mud Takes a fight with the mirror Ain’t it funny (funny) To finally recognise your worth Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

Burning 03:44
Closed in a corridor Hear the sirens beg for more Surrounded by a dark, charred beam Right where your flames used to be In a haze try to pretend That the smoke won’t go straight to your head Heat drawn out without a spark Shake your head let the demons fall out But still I blaze using all the oxygen I’m the only one that’s burning Trapped in four square feet Movement stirs souls to speak More fuel, fuel for the flame Fire flares up and feasts again But still I blaze using all the oxygen I’m the only one that’s burning Enveloped by heat and smoke I might have laughed but instead I choked Extinguished there is no doubt That my very first fire must’ve burnt you out But still I blaze using all the oxygen I’m the only one that’s burning Burning Burning Burning

Bed Bugs 03:41
I made the bed with you in it Too late to see your side No movement allowed in this house of mine Shuffle over to the other side I bundled you up like a mummy Kept you safe from the outside world I wrapped you up wouldn’t let you unfold You’re welcome my darling stronghold Because no matter, matter, matter how hard you try The tiny little bed bugs will always bite Do do do do do do do do Do do do do do Do do do do do do do Sometimes you would wriggle around in discomfort Tried to get me to set you loose (Let me out) You’d make whining noises try to wear me down My stronghold I can’t let you out Because no matter, matter, matter how hard you try The tiny little bed bugs will always bite Do do do do do do do do Do do do do do Do do do do do do do Once you outwitted my constraining contraption And left to live alone I watched you with caution and lived out my days With no baggage to weigh me down You held your own, never once fell under You’d learnt from me well Soon you’ll have your own decision to smother Or you’ll burn the stronghold down Because no matter, matter, matter how hard you try The tiny little bed bugs will always bite Do do do do do do do do Do do do do do Do do do do do do do do do Do do do do do do do do Do do do do do Do do do do do do do do do

Mo mo mo mo mo mo mo mo momma Mo mo mo mo mo mo mo momma Momma made sure that I knew just how the world moved round She held my blindfolded head just before I hit the ground Be cautious my dear, don’t you succumb to greed These are just some of the things my momma said to me Before I Fell Fell Fell Fell Momma made sure that my mind was screwed on nice and tight She helped me differentiate between dark and light Stand steady my love, don’t let others walk all over you These are just some of the things I should have listened to Before I Fell Fell Fell Fell (Momma, momma) Momma made sure that she was always there After I grazed my knees, complained life wasn’t fair Pick yourself up dear girl, you’ve learnt something from this I’ll remember her words in future just before I shoot to miss Before I Fall Fall Fall Fall (Momma, momma) I should’ve known by now I should’ve known by now, now I should’ve known by now I should’ve known by, known by now I should’ve known by now I should’ve known by now, now I should’ve known by now I should’ve known by now But momma made sure (Momma, momma) (Oh momma made sure) Mo mo momma (Mo mo mo mo mo mo mo mo momma)

Out in the woods, beside the bank I could hear you calling, calling out Got nice and lost all by your self I could hear you calling, calling out You went with a map for the afternoon Didn’t think you’d go through with it Your eyes were swollen from the night before When I heard you calling, calling out Ah oh wah And all the while the clues were all around me They screamed in the direction You were lost All the while you were watching in the tree above me But I dare not look up Ah oh wah ee ah ee ah I found your shoe down by the creek Just before my search attempt grew weak Soles still intact without a trace I could hear you calling what a waste I walked in circles, I scanned the floor I could hear you calling evermore Despite the evidence that pointed up I knew I wasn’t looking hard enough And all the while the clues were all around me They screamed in the direction You were lost All the while you were watching in the tree above me But I dare not look up Ah oh wah ee ah ee ah All of a sudden - there was a broken branch Held together with rope twined into strands I held the edge, followed it up I climbed your ladder to the top The treehouse was covered with green debris You were just waiting there For me, for me Looking out the window to where I was before I couldn’t hear you calling anymore And all the while the clues were all around me They screamed in the direction You were lost All the while you were watching in the tree above me But I dare not look up Ah oh wah ee ah ee ah Ah oh wah ee ah ee ah I’ve no idea how long we both sat staring Down to the ground below No words exchanged in that treehouse that we stayed in And we dare not look up Ah oh wah ee ah ee ah Ah ee ah ee ah Oh wah ee ah ee ah (Lost)

Suffer You 03:57
Don’t you waste your time on me darling You know it’s no good Don’t you lie awake at night Twiddling those silly little thumbs ‘Round here you know You have quite the reputation You’ve been around the block Maybe one, maybe two, maybe three Might be four times – it’s luck But you’ve been lying, despising You lose track of time All the while you’ve been trying to catch me But I don’t want to know what it feels like No, I don’t want to know what it feels like To be loved By you Is to be hurt By you Oh, darling you do everything in your bag of tricks Until you think you’ve got me in your pocket Sewn up all shut, both love-struck and stuck To you, to you, to you This is all a game You play with anybody willing The more you meet, The more that suffer you While you’ve been lying, despising You lose track of time All the while you’ve been trying to catch me But I don’t want to know what it feels like No, I don’t want to know what it feels like To be loved By you Is to be hurt By you Oh, darling give up we all know that you did your best All five minutes could be worth Less The more you stay The more that suffer you While you’ve been lying, despising You lose track of time All the while you’ve been failing to catch me ‘Cause I don’t want to know what it feels like No, I don’t want to know what it feels like To be loved By you Is to be hurt By you Oh darling who knew Who knew, who knew, who knew, who knew Oh darling who knew Who knew, who knew, who knew

Gone are the days when a man, was a man If that’s what you’d call it (What would you call it) He defended all the ones he loves By the strength of his heart not the bulk of his wallet Walked in with a smile or a charming glance If you wanted respect; then you had to earn it And though the times have changed We have stayed the same And how our country bled While you were driving home with that sad face on Oh what a picture you silly creature And you’ve been driving blind Because you’re too damn tired to turn the light on Where have the days gone Gone are the days when trust went both ways And your fate didn’t lie in the underhand (Who can you trust now) Now we all occupy the rooms of corruption Playing with dice we don’t understand (We don’t understand) And though the times have changed We have stayed the same And how our country bled While you were driving home with that sad face on Oh what a picture you silly creature And you’ve been driving blind Because you’re too damn tired to turn the light on Where have the days gone Before we were driving blind We're driving blind We're driving blind because we’re too damn tired Before we were driving blind We're driving blind We're driving blind because we’re too damn tired To turn the light on

(Um, no) (What are you wearing) (I dunno) Standing in a room full of silly little shirts Each one sizing up the other (I think it’s too small) ‘That one simply doesn’t fit into our standard Please send him out’ But ain’t it funny how they all come running Ain’t it funny how they seem to smile the same Win you over with their words As they plan to shut you out again Those silly little shirts (Um, no) (I dunno) Zip up darling it’s cold outside Especially when you’re out on you own (Loner) Shrunk by machine, your vest is too tight Please fix yourself But ain’t it funny how they all come running Ain’t it funny how they seem to smile the same Win you over with their words As they plan to shut you out again Those silly little shirts (Did you see that) (Um, no) (What are you wearing) (I dunno) (Loner) (Did you see that) Tuxedos available for anyone Who seems to think in your favour There at the start but in the end they are gone Once your charm has gone under So suit yourself Oh suit yourself (Can you believe it – he dresses himself) Now ain’t it funny how they all come running Ain’t it funny how you smile and walk away Ignorant of all their words They will never get to see you wear Their silly little shirts Their silly little shirts Their silly little shirts Silly little shirts (I hope that doesn’t stain)

I’ve always been on your list of never’s Never to speak for silence knows better Ooh I’ve always been shrunk in the margins Never to be seen in the shadows I lurk in I’ve never been the first choice to hang onto When the ink runs out and paper’s running thin On your list of never’s (Never) I’ve always stepped in the feet of your silhouette Never to grasp a real element of you You’ve always been rather fond of me We never begin and so we never end Until the day you need someone to hang onto When the ink runs out and paper’s running thin On your list of never’s (Never) On your list of never’s (Never) It’s time for me to make the choice I’ve never made before I always knew it would be this way I’ll fill you in for sure On my list of never’s On my list of never’s Ooh Ooh

Intertwined 03:13
Flying by on a whim Spending all our time Where you end is where I begin In circles intertwined And I would lose myself in you for your heart is mine And I would give my love to you We’re intertwined Driving still side by side Arguing playfully Was I yours or were you mine I hid away your keys And you would lose yourself in me for our hearts beat in time And you would give your love to me We’re intertwined Sailing far, far away Catch ourselves in thunder You speak to me till morning breaks As I try to recover And I would lose myself in you for your heart is mine And I would share my love with you We’re intertwined Silent as we lie in wake I sneak a gaze at you You catch me staring and draw me near For you were looking too And you would lose yourself in me for our hearts beat in time And you would spend your days with me We’re intertwined

Moving Along 03:29
The moon is full tonight An old man thought he saw a shadow in the lampshade And he got such a fright (A fright, a fright) Strolling underneath the window Right under a ten-foot ladder oh well They say ‘life won’t last too long’ Unless you just keep on moving along Hear a scream above the emptiness It’s just Mrs Weaver walking in her nightdress Well jeez – ain’t that a sight to see Someone shattered their reflection in the mirror Nothing like bad luck to cheer you Unless you just keep moving along Relax and just keep on moving Along … Every line makes us suspicious Like stepping on mines, it serves its’ purpose Unless you just keep moving along Relax and just keep on moving Along … Keep on moving Keep on moving along Keep on moving Keep on moving along Along Along Along Along Along Along Along Along

about

‘Robust Rebellion’ is an album that challenges stereotypes of the modern-day world by offering a selection of songs (some of which combat each other in subject matter) representing both light and dark sides of the same coin. It hopes to convey through its melodies that all things can be interpreted with dual meanings and ‘different’ is a word worth celebrating in most situations. For the most part; the album explores effects that discriminative opinions have towards inward struggles and encourages listeners to stay true to themselves regardless of the challenges that occur.

Also: it sounds nice most of the time.
